Exploring Zwolle!

So I am at the beginning of my third week here in the Netherlands. I am finally starting my normal classes this week. After two weeks of introduction classes I am very ready for actual classes and the trips to start.

This past week I finished the introduction classes. Also during this week we went on our first excursion in Zwolle, the city we are living in. We went visited one of the museums in Zwolle, the Museum de Fundatie. It was really interesting to go here and see the different exhibits they had on display. There were three different exhibit that we say, on was all paintings, one on the Soviet Union, and one consisting on famous Dutch photographers. Here are some pictures:

We then walked around Zwolle and a professors talked about the history of the town.

Here is a link to one of my classmate’s blog (Luke Vanhuizen) – these are the pictures he took while we were on our excursion through Zwolle! https://lukevphotos.wordpress.com

This past weekend I spent time with my host family. We went to the city centre, went out for lunch, and walked around the market. While in the market I got a fresh stroopwafel. After walking around the market, we went to the IJsbeeldenfestival, which is an Ice Sculpture Festival. The theme this year was “Journey through a Frozen World”. Here are some pictures from the festival:

Here are a few random pictures from the week:

Thanks for reading!
